In a daring operation, the Lagos State Police Command neutralized nine notorious kidnappers and left two others fleeing with gunshot injuries. The successful ambush was the culmination of an eight-month manhunt for the gang, responsible for terrorizing wealthy individuals in various Lagos neighborhoods.
Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives laid a trap for the gang, who were planning to strike in the Ladipo area on Thursday. Despite being caught off guard, the kidnappers put up a fierce resistance, engaging police in a shootout. However, they were no match for the superior firepower of the police.
The operation yielded a significant haul of weapons and equipment, including AK-47 rifles, pistols, magazines, walkie-talkies, and a POS machine. Two operational vehicles, a Toyota 4Runner and a Lexus RX350, were also recovered.
The police are now on the hunt for the two fleeing suspects and urge anyone with information or those who may encounter individuals with gunshot injuries to come forward.
This triumph marks the end of the gang’s reign of terror and serves as a testament to the Lagos Police Command’s unwavering commitment to protecting citizens and keeping the streets safe.
