“I’m the Head of Nigerian Delegation,” Tinubu Tells Obi, Fayemi

President Bola Tinubu, Peter Obi, and Kayode Fayemi met at the Vatican’s installation mass of Pope Leo XIV. Fayemi spotted Tinubu seated with global leaders and asked Obi to join him in greeting the President. During their encounter, Fayemi jokingly said, “Mr. President, welcome to our church.” Tinubu humorously responded, “I should be welcoming you; I’m the head of the Nigerian delegation.” Obi agreed, saying, “Yes, indeed. We are members of your delegation.”

This meeting holds symbolic significance, given their roles in the 2023 presidential election. The lighthearted exchange showcased camaraderie despite their political differences.
