BRAVE TROOPS NET 10 TERROR SUSPECTS IN TARABA STATE

n a daring operation, the valiant troops of Headquarters 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/ Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) joined forces with other security agencies to apprehend 10 suspected terrorists in Taraba State. The successful mission, which took place on Monday, dealt a significant blow to the insurgents’ plans.

Captain Oni Olubodunde, Acting Assistant Director of the 6 Brigade Army Public Relations, revealed that the operations were carried out in Galeri and Kwondo Villages of Ardo-Kola and Bali Local Government Areas. The first operation saw the arrest of two suspects, Ali Ibrahim (aka Yellow) and Wetti Alhaji Ibrahim, along with the recovery of an AK-47 rifle and 3 rounds of ammunition.

A subsequent operation led to the capture of 8 additional suspects, known for attacking Southern Taraba, after weeks of covert intelligence gathering. Preliminary investigations revealed that the gang leader was linked to the notorious Terwase Akwaza (aka Gana) gang.

The troops recovered 10 military camouflage uniforms, N60,000, and 30 rounds of ammunition from one of the suspects’ houses. The suspects are currently in custody, awaiting handover to relevant authorities for further investigation and possible prosecution.

This triumph marks a significant milestone in the fight against terrorism in Taraba State, showcasing the bravery and determination of the Nigerian Army and its partners.
