Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has accepted the resignation of Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Osarodion Ogie, who stepped down to pursue his political ambition as the running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo.
Ogie’s resignation, effective August 9, 2024, complies with the electoral law requiring political appointees to resign 30 days before the election. Governor Obaseki thanked Ogie for his commitment and loyalty, wishing him the best in his aspirations.
Consequently, Governor Obaseki has appointed Joseph Eboigbe as the new SSG, effective immediately. Eboigbe, a chartered accountant, previously served as Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning and Commissioner for Finance. He brings 15 years of experience from Deloitte and holds an MSc in Leadership and Strategy from the London Business School.
Eboigbe is expected to continue the Governor’s “Finishing Strong” agenda, driving the state’s development agenda in the final lap.
